Tanto madrugar a veces no tiene recompensa, fui a coger el tren en la estación de Ueno para dirigirme hasta Utsunomiya. Como era hora punta pensé en hacer reserva de tren y así ahorrarme 45 minutos de pie. Fui a la ventanilla de venta de Ticket de JR y pedí mi billete.
Fui corriendo hasta el andén que tocaba, pero no lo veía muy claro, había un tren parado en la andana, y le pregunté a una pareja que había allí si era el tren correcto y no me supieron decir. Fui al Kiosko y la señorá sacó un planing de trenes. Empiezo a mirarlo y vi como el tren que estaba en el andén se iba (había estado apunto de cogerlo). La señora del kiosco me indicó que había otro tren más tarde, miro bien mi billete y compruebo que el tren que tenía que cojer no era este que había perdido sino el que pasaba una hora más tarde. Así que estuve esperando casi una hora hasta que llegó mi tren.
Llego a Nikko sin ningún problema, solo una hora más tarde de lo que había previsto. Cojo un bus que atraviesa todo el pueblo de Nikko hasta el puente de Shinyo. Es un puente muy bonito de color rojo, la entrada hacia la zona de templos Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
Subo la escalinata en medio de un frondoso bosque de coníferas y llego hasta el primer templo. Rinnoji, que por desgracia está en obras. Este templo guarda uno de los budas más importantes de Japón, no se pueden hacer fotos en el interior pero yo consigo sacar esta foto.
Más tarde voy hacia el Toshogu Shrine, es enorme y muy bonito, con un montón de edificios. Hay mucha gente, sobre todo niños de las escuelas con sus sombreros amarillos. Veo en un lateral de un templo a los famosos tres monos (no oir, no hablar y no mirar). Y en otro templo se está oficiando una boda. Los novios salen del templo y posan para la gente que está allí mirando.
Finalmente voy hasta el Futarasan, (un templo pequeñito) y el Iemitsu Taiyuin, los dos son muy bonitos y sorprendenetemente no hay casi nadie. La gente solo va a visitar los dos primeros templos y se queda sin descubrir estos, que realmente valen la pena. Salgo del recinto de los templos por una calle llena de comercios hasta un bar regentado por una señora y su hija. Pido Katsukare (carne de cerdo empanada y arroz con curry), me sirven un te mientras espero. Todo riquísimo.
Después de comer decido ir hasta el abismo de Kanmangafuchi, para llegar hasta aquí hay que seguir una carretera que va paralela al río hasta que cruzas un pequeño puente y comienza un sendero entre arboles llamado el parque de las piedras. Hay montones de figuras con gorritos y baberos rojos, y el musgo trepa sobre las estatuas de piedra. Camino un rato por este sendero hasta un pequeño mirador junto al acantilado, hay un río que baja con bastante fuerza y el paisaje es muy bonito. Realmente dan ganas de quedarse un rato observando y escuchando el ruido del agua y la tranquilidad de la zona.
Decido volver andando hasta la estación JR Nikko, pero el paseo se hace bastante aburrido, hay muchas tiendas que venden recuerdos de Nikko, pero apenas hay gente. Llego temprano al hotel, pero como estoy tan cansada decido ir a los baños públicos. Hoy me merezco una recompensa.
5th OCTOBER. TODAY NIKKO
Last night I watched the weather and decided it would be a good day to go to Nikko, that if played early, at 6.00am I'll rise.
Both sometimes up early is not rewarded, I went to take train from Ueno Station to address to Utsunomiya. As I thought about making rush hour train reservation and save yourself 45 minutes of walking. I went to the window of JR Ticket sales and asked for my ticket.
I ran to the platform it played, but it wasn't very clear, there was a train standing in the row, and I asked a couple who was there if it was the right train and I knew that. I went to the kiosk and the lady took a train planing. I begin to look and saw the train that was on the platform was going (he had been about to catch it). The lady in the kiosk told me there was another train later, I look good my ticket and check that the train had to take this was not lost but had to spend an hour later. So I waited almost an hour until my train arrived.
I arrived to Nikko without any problem, just an hour later than planned. I catch a bus that cross the town of Nikko to Shinyo bridge. It's a very nice bridge in red, the entrance to the temple precinct Heritage.
Climb the stairs in the middle of a lush pine forest and came to the first temple. Rinnoji, which unfortunately is under construction. This temple houses one of the largest Buddha in Japan, you can not take pictures inside but I manage to take this picture.
Later I go to the Toshogu Shrine, is huge and very nice, with lots of buildings. Many people, mostly schoolchildren with their yellow hats. I see on the side of a temple to the famous three monkeys (not hear, not talking and not looking). And in another temple is officiating a wedding. The newlyweds leave the church and pose for people who are there watching.
Finally I go to the Futarasan (little temple) and Taiyuin Iemitsu, the two are very nice and there is hardly anyone sorprendenetemente. People will only visit the first two temples and undiscovered is these that are really worth. I leave the precincts of the temples by a street full of shops to a bar owned by a lady and her daughter. Ask Katsukare (pork pie and rice with curry), served me tea while I wait. All delicious.
After dinner I decide to go to the abyss of Kanmangafuchi, to reach here is to follow a road that parallels the river until you cross a small bridge and begins a path between trees called the park of the stones. There are lots of figures with red caps and bibs, and moss climbs over the stone statues. Walk for a while on this path to a small gazebo next to the cliff, a river coming down pretty hard and the scenery is very nice. I really just want to stay a while watching and listening to the sound of water and the tranquility of the area.
I decide to walk back to the JR Nikko station, but the ride is pretty boring, there are many shops selling souvenirs of Nikko, but little people. I arrive early at the hotel, but as I'm so tired I decide to go to the japanese bathroom near the hotel. Today I deserve a reward.
