Hoy tengo entrada para el museo Ghibli (la cogí desde una agencia en Barcelona, para asegurarme que podría entrar sin ningún problema).
En la estación de Mitaka veo un Totoro sobre el mostrador, inconfundiblemente estoy en el sitio correcto. Salgo de la estación y veo el bus amarillo que te lleva hasta el museo, pero yo decido ir andando (un paseo de unos 20 minutos, siguiendo un tranquilo canal y visitando el barrio). Encuentro este escudo en las farolas que siguen el camino. ¿es el escudo oficial de Mitaka? que dibertido. En Barcelona también podrían inventarse un escudo municipal como este...
Llego al museo y en la entrada me está esperando un gran Totoro dentro de la taquilla y debajo unos cuantos duendes del polvo. Dentro del museo no se pueden hacer fotos, pero de vez en cuando hago trampa y hago alguna que otra foto.
Voy al cine Saturno y veo un corto de unos 20 minutos que trata sobre unos ratoncitos que son luchadores de Sumo, realmente entrañables y muy dibertidos.
Me doy una vuelta por el museo y voy hacía el Gatobus, en él solo puede subir los niños de hasta 12 años. Acabo de dar la vuelta por el museo y está decorado con mucho gusto, pequeñas habitaciones llenas de cuadros de los dibujos del estudio, mesitas de escritorio llenas de colores y figuritas muy coloridas (pero no se puede tocar nada..solo mirar).
En la sala de abajo veo varios Dioramas muy trabajados de las diferentes películas. Una casita de muñecas donde puedes abrir las ventanitas y encontrarte con los diferentes personajes. Todo muy bonito y entrañable.
Llego hasta la tienda de recuerdos, y por supuesto está llenísima de gente comprando, miro lo que venden y todo me parece carísimo. Lo cierto es que imaginaba más merchandaising y me desilusiono un poco, ya que lo que venden carece de interés para mi. Ni siquiera venden las camisetas con los diferentes personajes de sus pelis, o un pack de películas en DVD....La tienda se queda pequeña debido a la gran cantidad de niños correteando y chillando y voy hacía la librería. Otra pequeña desilusión, apenas unos pocos libros de la producción del estudio.
Decido quedarme a comer en el museo y el menú me lo trae Porco Rosso (otro personaje de estudio Ghibli)
Para acabar de visitar el museo subo a la azotea, donde encuentro al Robot de un Castillo en el cielo, de tamaño gigante.
Decido volver hacía Tokyo y me voy al barrio de Kagurazaka. Según la guía: un barrio con encanto donde antes hubo geishas... Ahora es un barrio de lo más normalito, y el día (que no acaba de estar claro) me quitan la ilusión.
Decido ir al Kabuki-cho o barrio rojo. Está muy animado y empiezan a encenderse las luces de neón. En este barrio encuentro tres tipos de establecimientos unicamente; Restaurantes, salas de juego (Pachinko) y locales de masajes (o burdeles). Pese a ser el barrio rojo no encuentro prostitutas, están dentro de los locales protegidas de miradas indiscretas. En la entrada de estos locales de masajes estan los vigilantes (o Yakuza, pertenecientes a la mafia japonesa). Estos individuos son bastante "tirillas", y me sorpende el concepto de seguridad tan diferente que hay aquí (tios de 2x2).
Lo que me sorprende también es encontarme a estos dos vigilantes-polícias (aun no se que hacen exactamente) vigilando las calles. Dos señores bastante mallores y parecen inofensivos, no van armados pero van dando instrucciones a la gente que pasea por las calles.
Hay mucha gente paseando por este barrio, sobretodo "sarari-man" o asalariados, hombres que acaban el trabajo y se van a tomar unas copas antes de volver a sus casas. Yo también decido volver a "casa", pero antes entro en el super y me compro una bandeja de makis, que están riquísimos.
TOTORO, DUST GOBLINS AND UNCORRUPTED POLICE
Today I go to the Ghibli Museum (I took it from an agency in Barcelona, to make sure I could enter without any problem.)
In Mitaka station I see a Totoro on the counter. Exit the station and see the yellow bus that takes you to the museum, but I decided to walk (a walk of about 20 minutes, following a canal and visiting the neighborhood.) I find this shield in the lamps that follow the path. Is it the official shield of Mitaka? that's funny. Barcelona could also invent a shield like this ...
I get to the museum, in the entrance is expecting a great Totoro within and below the box office dust a few elves. Inside the museum you can not take pictures, but every once in a while I cheat and do a couple of pictures.
Thera are a little theatre (called Saturn)and I going to see a 20 minute short dealing with some mouse that are Sumo wrestlers, really pleasant and very cute.
I take a tour of the museum and go to the Catbus, it can only raise children up to 12 years. I go round the museum and is tastefully decorated, small rooms filled with pictures of the drawings of the study, desk tables and figures colorful colorful (but you can not touch anything .. just look).
In the down room I see several very elaborate dioramas of the different films. A doll house that you can open the windows and meet different characters. All very nice and pleasant.
I get to the souvenir shop, and of course is really full of people buying, look what they sell and everything seems very expensive. The truth is that I imagine most merchandising and disappoint a little, because what they sell is of no interest to me. Not even sold T-shirts with the different characters in his movies, or a pack of DVD movies .... The store is small due to the large number of children running and screaming and I was the library. Another small disappointment, just a few books about the studio's production.
I decide to stay and eat in the museum and the menu brings me Porco Rosso (other Studio Ghibli character).
To finally visit the museum get on the roof where the robot find a castle in the sky, giant size.
Decided return to Tokyo and go to the Kagurazaka neighborhood. According to the guide, a charming district where there had geishas ... Now is a most normal neighborhood, and the day (not just to be clear) I removed the illusion.
Decide to go to Kabuki-cho or red district. Is lively and begin to turn on the neon lights. In this neighborhood meeting only three types of establishments: restaurants, game rooms (Pachinko) and massage parlors (or brothels). Despite being the red light district can not find prostitutes, are within the premises protected from prying eyes. At the entrance to these massage parlors are the guards (or Yakuza, belonging to the Japanese Mafia). These guys are quite "strips" and I sorpesed the concept of security so different than here (2x2 guys).
What surprises me is also find these two guards, police officers (who do not yet exactly) patrolling the streets. Two old men and seem harmless enough, but they are not armed giving instructions to people who wander the streets
There are many people walking around this neighborhood, especially "sarari-man" or employees, men who just work and go for a drink before returning home. I also decided to return "home", but entered before the supermarket and bought me a tray of maki, which are delicious.
